I’ve decided to bring the blog out of retirement to share some quick updates about what we’re up to now that our backpacks are sadly tucked away.
While we haven’t been to any exotic destinations recently, our travel spirit remains alive. Tim and I are speaking next week at a National Event called Meet, Plan, Go. This is a seriously cool event. It’s all about promoting long-term travel among North Americans (because believe it or not, long-term travel in kind of normal in other places like Europe).
Tim and I are thrilled to be involved with MPG, not just because the other people involved are even more passionate about travel than we are, but because the opportunity to travel has meant so much to us that we can’t wait to encourage other people to take the same leap of faith.
If you don’t live in Boston, that’s okay because there are 17 events going on through-out the country. (the one in Boston just happens to be the coolest) If you’ve ever thought about traveling for more than a few weeks then we hope to see you there.
P.S. If you have been missing my traveling words of wisdom, Here are two places I have been moonlighting recently.

I wanted to stop by your website and let you know that I really appreciated you and Tim taking the time to come to the event last night. My girlfriend and I have always had someone undefined plans for extensive travel and last night really affirmed that desire for us. The night was really great and we enjoyed listening to the two of you share your experiences. Thank you!

You’re welcome! We were you a short time ago, and really wish we knew about MPG before we left! We hope your “undefined plans” become defined sometime soon. I found that picking a date helped (we changed it, but putting a date on it makes it a reality!) If you have more questions we’re around anytime to offer advice.

Hey Robin!
Great to see you were involved with MPG Boston. I actually just moved back to Boston.
Have you found that you career/life interests have changed since you came back from your trip?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Dale

Hi Dale!
Great question, I’d be surprised if anyone wasn’t altered by their experiences after taking a trip like ours. If nothing else it opened up for me all the ways that people are doing great things in this world, and makes you want to be one of those people.
I am a huge fan of Bootsnall and hopefully sent a few more people your way, since I told anyone who asked me for planning advice at MPG to check out Bootsnall’s forums. I definitely stalked the Round the World forum for months before feeling like I actually had some idea of where to start planning our trip.
